Mac minis mit mehr RAM, iBooks mit mehr Power [upd.]
15.00 Uhr: Es gibt leicht verbesserte iBooks: 1,33 GHz PowerPC G4 iBook für 1.029 Euro; 1,42 GHz PowerPC G4 iBook für 1.319 Euro. Beide Modelle haben keinen Widescreen, aber nun 512 MB RAM in der Grundausstattung, Trackpads mit Blätterfunktion wie die Powerbooks, einen Sudden Motion Sensor, AirPort Extreme und Bluetooth 2.0. Die iBooks sind also etwas schneller, deutlich besser ausgestattet, aber auch insgesamt optisch etwas teurer geworden: das Basismodell - mit 256 MB RAM - kostete bisher 979 Euro.
14.57 Uhr: Apple hat die Ausstattung der kostengünstigen Mac mini-Modellreihe aufgewertet. Mit jetzt 512 MB Speicher ist der Mac mini ab 519 Euro inkl. Mwst. erhältlich. Mit integriertem AirPort Extreme WLAN und Bluetooth ist der Mac mini ab 619 Euro inkl. Mwst., und mit SuperDrive-Laufwerk, um DVDs zu brennen, ab 719 Euro inkl. Mwst. verfügbar. Auch die - wie erwartet nun drei - mini-Modelle sind also insgesamt etwas teurer geworden, bringen aber dafür eine bessere Grundaustattung mit. Allerdings scheinen 519 Euro für den »preiswertesten Mac aller Zeiten« einfach zu teuer: gespannt darf man deshalb auf die Strassenpreise sein.
