12:50 Uhr Netzeitung: Microsoft kündigt eine neue Ära der Offenheit an: man werde künftig technische Informationen über Software-Produkte kostenlos veröffentlichen. Die EU-Kommission, die wiederholt mehr Offenheit gefordert hat und noch im Januar zwei neue Verfahren gegen Microsoft einleitete, reagierte skeptisch auf die Ankündigung aus Redmond.
7:00 Uhr Apple: heute nacht hat Apple das Update 7.6.1 für iTunes freigegeben, das die »Kompatibilität mit der Apple TV-Softwareversion 2.0.« verbessert und nebenbei den Medienhimmel auf Erden verspricht: »Leihen Sie Ihre Lieblingsfilme in iTunes aus und laden Sie sie auf Ihren Computer oder holen Sie die Filme direkt auf Apple TV in Ihr Wohnzimmer.« Nichts davon stimmt, im deutschen iTunes Store fehlen diese Angebote nach wie vor komplett.
