16:00 Uhr Apple: im iPhone Dev Center weisst Apple die Entwickler auf die Möglichkeiten des Core Location-Frameworks zur Ortsbestimmung hin, warnt aber gleichzeitig vor der »hauptsächlichen Nutzung für standortbezogene Werbung«: solche Apps würden nicht für den App Store zugelassen, so Apple. Die Ortsabfrage sollte nur für »nützliche Informationen« eingesetzt werden.
7:30 Uhr New York Magazine: Steve Jobs soll sich mit New York Times-Verleger Arthur Sulzberger und 50 Managern zum Dinner in einem asiatischen Restaurant getroffen und das iPad demonstriert haben. Dem Bericht zufolge trug Steve Jobs dabei einen »sehr lustigen Hut«, orderte Joghurt und Nudeln und gestand, dass selbst er die Wochenend-Ausgabe der NYT in gedruckter Form bevorzugt.
