WePad - die Wunderwaffe der Verlage?
Die Berliner Firma Neofonie kündigt für April einen Tablet-PC an, der größer, schneller und besser ausgestattet sein soll als das iPad. Angepriesen wird das Gerät als »Tablet für Verlage«. Steckt Axel Springer dahinter, fragt n-tv ?
Neofonie vergleicht in einem Produktblatt [PDF] die Werte des WePad mit denen des iPad: ob das Tablet aber multitouchfähig ist, geht nicht daraus hervor. WePad arbeitet mit einem 1,66 GHz-Intel-Prozessor, als Betriebssystem dient offenbar Googles Android. Das Unternehmen bietet Printmedien zudem eine Möglichkeit an, ihre Inhalte als »intelligente, interaktiv und sozial vernetzte Titel in digitaler Form« auf das WePad zu bringen und bewirbt das WePad als »Das Tablet für Verlage«. Wer diese Verlage sind, will Neofonie jedoch noch nicht verraten.
